Korzo Theater presents Tussen, a dance production by Boukje Schweigman,  taking place on 10 and 11 March.

Tussen (Between) focuses on the hallucinatory effect of abrupt changes between light and dark are used to experience the alienating border area between ‘being’ and ‘non-being’. In this physical performance, excesses of life energy and daring are alternated with complete surrender to nothingness, to emptiness. We enter the twilight realm where imagination is unleashed.

In Tussen, Boukje Schweigman works with her regular designer Theun Mosk, and the Japanese dancer Kenzo Kusuda. Boukje Schweigman completed her mime training in 2003. She distinguished herself as a creative by creating surreal worlds that literally draw the audience in, and confront them with essential questions about life without making them explicit.

Theun Mosk is Schweigeman’s regular designer and lighting designer. He has worked with Robert Wilson, Jetse Batelaan, Lotte van den Berg and Paul Koek. In 2007, he received the Charlotte Köhler Prize for young theatre makers.

The authentic movement language of talented dancer Kenzo Kusuda has been admired in the works of numerous choreographers. Many choreographers have become fascinated by the seemingly inexhaustible creativity and imagination with which this self-taught dancer makes movement into dance. Kusuda has himself created many choreographies, among which are the Korzo productions Moisture Rocket (2002), invisitors' vista (2005) and Honey Crypto (2008).
