Chinese Art Festival in the City Hall

The first edition of Chinese Art Festival will be held on Sunday 19 September from 13:00 to 17:00 in the Atrium of the City Hall of The Hague. Mr. Henk Kool, Vice Mayor of the Hague will deliver an opening speech at 13:15. This event takes place in correspondance with the fifth annual Feel at Home in The Hague - The International Community Fair 2010. Both adults and children are welcome to take part in the Chinese festivities taking place. The varied programme (see below) has something fun for all!

 

This unique Chinese Arts festival will present diverse and rich artistic performances to present the essence of Chinese arts and culture, such as a Chinese art exhibition, traditional paper carving art, calligraphy, an exhibition of Chinese painting, Chinese folk music and folk dance performances. Read below for the schedule.

 

Guests can enjoy a live Chinese musical show and the minority tribal dance which will be presented on stage, plus join in on a live calligraphy presentation.

The children's art workshops will ensure parents can relax and enjoy what's on offer at Feel at Home in The Hague - The International Community Fair 2010 while the kids are soaking up Chinese arts and culture. Accompany your kids at the Kids Cultural Corner to join in the Kids Art Workshop (material costs 2), taking place from 15:00-16:30.

This event is organised by the Green Lotus Foundation, sponsored by OCAC, and coordinated by Boyuan Arts House, The HagueOnLine, Yang Ming BV, Zhi-Lan Creative Marketing and The Municipality of the Hague. Performers are sponsored by Zhi-Lan Creative Marketing and Zhi-Lan Performing arts Institute.

 

The Fair

 

Feel at Home in The Hague – The International Community Fair 2010 is a large scale community event which was initiated five years ago by TheHagueOnLine. The event aims to provide visitors with cultural information on how to make the most out of their time in the region, as well as practical information to ease them into their new environment. This year, over 200 cultural organisations, sports and social clubs as well as service providers will be present to guide visitors through their events, services and clubs. The fair is an excellent opportunity to discover all there is to do during your free time in The Hague region, and to connect with other internationals and locals in the area.

 

Doors open at 11:00, and tickets can be purchased upon arrival for € 5 each. Children under 18 may enter free of charge when accompanied by an adult.
