Refined Fusion is Perfection at HanTing in The Hague

HanTing defies classification from the moment you walk through the door. The unique design of East meets West, creates a contemporary and sophisticated atmosphere with authentic Asian influences. HanTing is exactly the kind of restaurant you might expect to find in Brussels or San Francisco, but it is one of a kind in The Hague and located in the heart of the City Center on the Prinsestraat.

Chef Han is a master of both French and Chinese cuisine and his creations can not be defined as either one, but rather a perfect harmony of the two. Fresh fish and seafood play a starring role on the HanTing menu and the Tuna Three Ways is worthy of the spotlight. Choosing a favorite among the three is a challenge; the Tuna tartar nestled upon apples and topped with duck liver gets tough competition from the zesty orange flavor accompanying the slightly grilled tuna with green curry and crispy spring roll of tuna and Canadian Bacon is a delicacy.

Chef Han’s thoughtful approach to the creation of each dish results in Refined Fusion. I urge you to be adventurous and put your dining experience in his hands! The surprise menu gives you the flexibility to choose the number of courses and exclude anything you choose. Don’t be too quick to exclude; one dinner companion rarely orders seafood, but was savoring every bite!

Not even halfway through the journey of Chef Han’s surprise menu and I was discreetly text messaging under the table to invite friends for a follow up visit to HanTing on my birthday. Both dinners were remarkable! HanTing is ideal for special occasions as well business dinners. For a romantic evening, request a booth in the red room!

The staff is welcoming and attentive. HanTing is truly an experience for the senses haute cuisine without intimidation or snobbery. It is a pleasure to meet Chef Han at the end of your meal, but his passion for combining high quality ingredients in unexpected combinations is communicated clearly as each plate is presented.
