The Groovalicious Tour at Paard

Boris and Wicked Jazz Sounds have put together a program entitled ‘The Groovalicious Tour’, which is coming to the home of the Hague music scene, the Paard van Troje on Saturday 9 January, featuring rising singers Jenny Lane and Caro Emerald. This Dutch crème de la crème of funk, soul and jazz promise to have audiences on their feet from the first until the very last minute with their collaboration of talent in one special show.

Jenny Lane is set to open the evening, followed by the Wicked Jazz Sounds Band and Boris & band with one feature by Caro Emerald.

Jenny Lane - pictured right - has grown to international appeal since starting her music career in 2007, recently releasing her debut ‘Monsters’ in September 2009. Her soulful voice and pop/jazz style will prove a lively opening to ‘The Groovalicious Tour’.

Wicked Jazz Sounds is an Amsterdam based platform for music – where Jazz meets dance – who combine the warmth of Jazz with the energy of contemporary dance music. Their unique style ranges from jazz, hip-hop, soul, funk, broken-beat, house, drum & bass and beyond. The Wicked Jazz Sounds Band debuted earlier this year with their album ‘The Biggest Sin’.

With the sounds of soul, funk and jazz, Dutch singer Boris - pictured above - (winner of the second season of Idols in The Netherlands) adds his funky vocals to ‘The Groovalicious Tour’. Boris and his band have been touring since early 2009 following the successful release of his third album ‘Live My Life’.

Having just recorded her debut album (to be released on 29 January 2010), Dutch jazz singer Caro Emerald - pictured right - also adds her flavour to the evening, with her sultry vocals featuring in the funky line-up. Her upcoming album 'Deleted Scenes From The Cutting Room Floor' is “a mix of 1950's inspired ballroom jazz, cinematic tangoes, groovin' jazz tracks, infectious mambo's and banging beats”.

With a unique combination of each of the bands’ qualities and talents, and over thirty musicians and singers on stage, this swinging experience a must see for any music lover.
