The Hague’s main shopping street, the Grote Marktstraat, is to be transformed into an international shopping boulevard. The design by architect Lana du Croq visualises the street as a ‘ballroom with chandeliers’, paving resembling a red carpet and street furniture inspired by fashions of the Hague royal court.

The Council has given its approval and the work is planned to start in 2011.
