The Protestant Community in The Hague could be bankrupt within the next 10 years if steps are not taken. The Protestant churches are more than 460,000 euro in the red, a deficit caused by the ministers´ higher salaries and the rising costs of maintaining the church buildings. Members´ contributions are not keeping pace. If no other solution is found, then churches will have to close or ministers made redundant.
