Madurodam is preparing for a year full of innovation and growth. In 2025, the park will expand further with a new splash and play meadow, introduce the first indoor dark ride and continue to build on its position as a modern theme park.

Opening Rivierenland: splashing and playing in a typical Dutch area
In the spring of 2025, Madurodam will open the brand new Rivierenland recreation area. This splash and play meadow is inspired by the unique Dutch river landscape and offers a mix of water fun and adventurous play fun. Rivierenland offers the youngest visitors the chance to romp and let off steam in a typical Dutch setting. Adults can sit comfortably in this area and make use of the catering point.

“With Rivierenland we are adding a typical Dutch theme area where discovery and letting off steam are central,” says Yvette Nieboer, Marketing, Sales and Events Manager at Madurodam.

Madurodam’s first dark ride: launch of largest and most expensive attraction ever
In the summer of 2025, Madurodam will open its very first dark ride, the largest and most expensive attraction in the park’s history. This indoor attraction combines innovative technology with exciting spinning vehicles, physical decors and sensory elements, offering a unique mix of adventure, innovation and subtle education.

The construction of the newest attraction is part of the expansion , which will continue to inspire visitors in the future with new, fascinating stories about the Netherlands.

This makes it the 7th indoor attraction at Madurodam. In addition to The Dutch Masters, The Waterwolf, The Flying Dutchman, the story of George, the Court of the Netherlands and New Amsterdam, this latest attraction fits in with Madurodam’s vision to position itself as an amusement park in the market.

Brand development: Madurodam focuses on surprise
With the above developments, Madurodam is looking forward to the new year with enthusiasm, in which innovation, renewal and visitor experience are central. The amusement park about the Netherlands will continue to work on its brand platform in 2025 and will focus on strengthening its position as a fully-fledged amusement park that offers more than just miniatures about the Netherlands.
