From October 31st to November 14th, the municipality of The Hague will be carrying out roadworks on Neherkade. The asphalt is worn and will be replaced in two phases. From Friday, October 31st, 7:00 AM to Thursday, November 6th, 4:00 PM, work will be carried out on the section between Slachthuislaan and Leeghwaterplein. From Thursday, November 6th, 11:00 PM to Friday, November 14th, 11:00 PM, work will be carried out on the section between the Leeghwater Bridge and Trekvliet Bridge. Through traffic will not be possible during these periods. Detours for cars and cyclists will be indicated by signs.
Until Thursday, October 30th, the municipality was working to replace the traffic lights and the associated control computer at the Neherkade/Calandplein intersection. The new systems are being configured to ensure smooth traffic flow. The new systems also feature LED lamps, making the traffic lights more energy-efficient.
Activities coordinated with each other
The asphalt work is scheduled to follow directly on from this replacement. Combining these activities will ensure efficient work and minimize disruption to traffic and the surrounding area. The road will reopen to traffic at 11:00 PM on November 14th. The asphalt on Neherkade will then have a lifespan of another twenty years.
