LEGOLAND® Discovery Centre Scheveningen and HMC Westeinde work together to create smiling faces
Yesterday, LEGOLAND® Discovery Centre and HMC Westeinde provided the children of the Sara de Bronovo Mother and Child Centre (MKC) of HMC with a fun day. The doctors and nurses there focus on care for expectant mothers, newborns and children. The afternoon was specially organised to offer the children a happy and carefree afternoon. For example, the LEGO® Santa Claus Mascot came to visit and they followed a workshop by Master Model Builder Jamie-Lee.
Building smiling faces
In Master Model Builder Jamie-Lee’s workshop, the children built winter owls from LEGO® bricks. Afterwards, the LEGO® Santa Claus Mascot came by for a Meet & Greet, where the children had the chance to cuddle and take pictures with the mascot. Michelle Hoeneveld, General Manager at LEGOLAND® Discovery Centre says, “ Not every child has the opportunity to visit LEGOLAND® Discovery Centre, for example due to illness. That’s why we think it’s extra special that we can bring the magic of LEGO® to them. Together with the Mother and Child Centre of HMC Westeinde, we hope to have given these children a moment of fun and relaxation.”
Sandra Verwijmeren, secretary MKC at HMC Westeinde adds, “We are very happy with this collaboration and hope that it will continue in the future. Three years ago we were given the Mauritshuis in LEGO® model, which still attracts a lot of attention. It is wonderful to see how these initiatives offer children a moment of fun and distraction.”
