Last week, the city council approved the principles for the development of homes, green spaces, and cycling and walking routes in Park Bloemendaal. The Plan Implementation Framework (PUK) allows healthcare institution Parnassia Groep to build a maximum of 262 homes, 80 of which will be social housing units. The plans also strengthen the main green structure with 190 additional trees and 10,000 m² of additional green space.
Robert van Asten, Alderman for Urban Development: “These plans connect the neighborhood. For example, by combining housing and healthcare on the site, and by constructing cycle paths between Vroondaal and its amenities, such as the school, supermarket, and pharmacy. At the same time, we continue to do justice to the area’s beautiful green surroundings. That’s special, and I’d love to come and see it by bike when the time comes.”
Richard Prins, director of Parnassia Group: “This will make Park Bloemendaal a fully-fledged part of the city: beautiful green spaces, with both peaceful and lively areas. Living and care go hand in hand here. A place where everyone can feel safe and accepted – without stigma.”
The PUK was developed in close collaboration with the Parnassia Group. Due to changes in healthcare, Parnassia has fewer buildings and therefore requires less space on the site. Since 2017, they have therefore been in discussions with the neighborhood about new plans. These plans make a significant contribution to the municipality’s ambitions for housing, green spaces, and mobility.
Now that the PUK has been approved, Parnassia and the municipality can formalize their plans in a collaboration agreement. This agreement will allow Parnassia to further develop and refine the plans.
