The Hague Leonardo Hotels are passionate about celebrating and promoting freedom and would like to support the Liberation Festival The Hague. The event is a free festival and attracts around 80,000 visitors each year. The expectation is that the number of visitors will be even higher this year, due to the celebration of 80 years of freedom and because Monday 5 May is a holiday for many people this year.

Celebrating 80 years of liberation
Thomas Kortleve, general manager Leonardo Royal Hotel Den Haag Promenade, is proud of the collaboration: “On 5 May, we celebrate that we live in freedom in the Netherlands. 5 May is also a day to reflect on the importance of freedom and to realize that freedom is vulnerable. For that reason, we have decided to embrace the Liberation Festival The Hague and to facilitate the organization with a fully catered VIP Lounge for all organizations that, like us, want to celebrate 80 years of liberation!”

The Liberation Festival The Hague is also delighted with the new partnership with Leonardo Hotels in The Hague: “It fits in perfectly with our ambition to establish close ties with the Hague business community and other organisations that are active in this city of Peace and Justice. Especially in these times, it is important that companies and organisations, like the Liberation Festival, clearly speak out for peace and freedom. With these types of partnerships, that involvement is even clearer,” says Martin Wörsdörfer.

Liberation Festival The Hague
On May 5, we celebrate that we live in freedom in the Netherlands. We celebrate that we were liberated from the German occupation in Europe and the Japanese occupation in Asia in 1945. That the Second World War full of violence and oppression came to an end. Many fought for freedom in the Netherlands and even gave their lives. At the Liberation Festival in The Hague on May 5, this fact will be commemorated during various moments and activities. For example, Ambassador of Freedom S10 will perform. In addition to concerts, the program consists of debates, entertainment and an informative market with ample attention for charities. The organization will announce the entire program soon.
