The Municipality of The Hague will carry out maintenance work on Loosduinseweg and Oude Haagweg from June 8 to July 17, 2026. The asphalt is worn and is being replaced to keep the road safe. During the works, access to the roads will be limited and traffic will be diverted. The work will take place on Loosduinseweg between Valkenboskade and Kamperfoeliestraat and on Oude Haagweg between Kamperfoeliestraat and Lisztstraat.

The works will affect traffic. Roads will be temporarily closed to allow for asphalt paving. As a result, road users will face diversions, increased traffic, and longer travel times. To minimize traffic disruption, the works will take place in multiple phases. Work will start on the Loosduinseweg between the Valkenboskade and the Kamperfoeliestraat. The works will then move in phases towards the Oude Haagweg between the Groen van Prinstererlaan and the Lisztstraat. Accessibility will vary per phase, and different diversions will apply. An overview of all phases, dates, and diversions can be found here .

Bus lines 23, 26, and 31 follow a diversion route during some phases. Pedestrians can pass through the work area, and emergency services retain access to homes and businesses at all times.

The contractor works primarily during the day. In some phases, work is also carried out in the evenings or on weekends to complete the work more quickly. The schedule may change in the event of bad weather.

Advice to residents and visitors

  • Use alternative transport and/or carpool.
  • Drive outside of peak hours if possible.
  • Use the diversion routes.
  • Please take noise and traffic nuisance into account.

Roadworks on Oude Haagweg

During the asphalt replacement, the following work will also take place on the Oude Haagweg:

  • The municipality is carrying out maintenance on the sewerage system on a section of Oude Haagweg. These are preparatory works so that a new inner layer can be installed in October. Local residents are being informed about this by letter.
  • Eneco is working on the heat network on a section of Oude Haagweg. Residents around the work area have received a letter from Eneco regarding this.
