The municipal elections on Wednesday, March 18th are just around the corner. To encourage more voters in The Hague to vote, the executive board and the city council have developed the “Voter Promoting Action Plan.” Various activities from the plan will take place in the coming period. The registrar’s office and the Elections Unit are responsible for implementing them. Below, you will find an overview of the most important activities from the plan and other important events in the coming period.
Activities from the Elections Unit (organization of the voting process):
- Placing pre-printed election signs at 53 locations with a call to vote (February 9)
- Placing billboards at 8 locations (February 23, the mayor will post a poster of the turnout campaign on the billboard in the city center at 8:30 AM)
- Places Parade Street near the Hofvijver (February 23)
- Voice practice days (various dates)
- Night voting (following Election Night, March 17)
- Own Your Polling Station (at eight locations in the city, a polling station will be staffed by young people on March 18)
- Mobile polling station (visiting various locations on March 18)
- Central vote count (March 19 from 9:00 a.m.)
- Public session of the central electoral committee: determining the final results including seat distribution, preferential votes and residual seats (March 26)
Activities from the registry (organization of substantive activities):
- “Come on! For The Hague!” turnout campaign
- Polls provided by Ipsos I&O (February 2 and March 2)
- ‘Here is your voice’ (8 giant chairs) (launch 12 February 4 p.m., Leyweg Shopping Centre)
- Voting aids (launching February 18. The Youth Voting Guide will be launched on February 25)
- School visits and youth involvement in elections
- All women in The Hague go to the polls and involve social organizations
- Final debate (March 14, 5 p.m.)
- Election Night (March 17)
- Election night (March 18 from 8:30 PM)
