Summer is here! The Hague Online will be taking a summer break in July & August.
For those of you who don’t (yet) know me, hello, I’m Renée. I’m a dual national Dutch Australian, and have lived in The Hague for around 15 years. I’ve worked with Billy @ The Hague Online for many years as editor, and in January took over ownership. Over the Christmas holidays, I rebuilt the website, with the support of Lemonberry.
Every week I spend many hours going through emails, websites and attending meetings/events and (re)building partnerships. My goal is to increase inclusion and bring you highlights of The Hague. I put together the enewsletter that goes out every Thursday….I hope it’s helpful in making the most of our great city!
Reflecting on the last 6 months so far….
Thanks to our “klein maar fijn” team – Billy has been travelling regularly but is still around and involved on some level. My daughter, Sophia, is our social media manager, and keeps the Instagram account up to date. My partner, Arnoud, is our photographer – he took the photo above of me jumping for joy @ Scheveningen last week after the opening event @ EVE. I’m looking at expanding our team after the summer, you’re welcome to contact us if you’re interested.
Thanks to our community for all your contributions so far this year. If you’d like to share an event or article after the summer, please read our submission guidelines.
Thank you also to our partners – take a look at their sites for more information on all these great organisations.
Over the next three weeks I’ll be wrapping up the academic year for my job @ The Hague University of Applied Sciences and teaching in the summer school. Then I’m off to Australia to visit my family for a few weeks and celebrate my 50th birthday!
Have a fabulous summer, no matter where you spend it. I am a bit sad to miss so much of summer here (it will be winter in Australia) but am sure that the sun will still be shining in The Hague in September.
See you then,
Renée
