Access to the main entrance of the KJ bicycle shed on Bezuidenhoutseweg reopened earlier than planned (on November 6th). This is because construction work at KJ Den Haag is now entering a new phase, which will change the layout of the construction site. At the same time, the pedestrian entrance, which provides direct access to the station, will close. Passengers on foot will therefore temporarily have to walk to the station via the main entrance on Bezuidenhoutseweg.

In collaboration with NS (Dutch Railways) and ProRail, passengers and cyclists will be informed about the changes in various ways in and around the KJ bicycle parking facility. During the first few days, staff will be present at the old side entrance on Rijnstraat to direct cyclists to the new entrance on Bezuidenhoutseweg. The signage to the parking facility will also be updated.

Why this change?

Construction work at Koningin Julianaplein has entered a new phase. To ensure safe and efficient construction, the pedestrian entrance that provided direct access to the station will be closed. Only the main entrance on Bezuidenhoutseweg will remain open from November 6th. The Hague’s pedestrian population is growing, so the municipality is working hard to keep the KJ bicycle parking facility available and accessible to every resident. This will ensure the city remains livable and accessible. It is expected that all entrances to the facility will be usable again from September 2026.
