Twenty political parties have submitted a candidate list to take part in the municipal elections in The Hague, which will be held on 18 March 2026. Parties were required to submit their candidate lists and supporting documents to the city’s central electoral committee on Monday 2 February.

The following parties submitted a candidate list, in alphabetical order:

• D66
• DENK
• Drerrie voor Den Haag (DvD)
• Forum voor Democratie
• GroenLinks / Partij van de Arbeid (PvdA)
• Haagse Stadspartij
• Hart voor Den Haag / Groep de Mos
• INL Den Haag
• Nieuw Sociaal Contract (NSC)
• Partij voor de Dieren
• Partij voor de Rechtsstaat
• PVV (Partij voor de Vrijheid)
• SP (Socialistische Partij)
• Volt
• VVD

In addition, two submissions were made with a blank candidate list, without a party name:

• Blanco (Çetinkaya, T.)
• Blanco (Ramdhani, N.)

Review of documents

The central electoral committee reviewed the submitted candidate lists and accompanying documents today in a closed session. In eight cases, procedural issues were identified, such as missing or incorrectly completed documents. These parties have the opportunity to correct the issues on Wednesday 4 February and Thursday 5 February.

Public session on Friday

On Friday 6 February at 17.00, the central electoral committee will hold a public session in the city hall council chamber. During this session, it will announce which parties have submitted valid candidate lists and confirm the candidates. The committee will also assign list numbers.
