The Hague Museon-Omniversum is all about ocean films & activities this summer. For example, the new, impressive large-screen films Call of the Dolphins and Sounds of the Ocean will be shown on the giant dome screen in the Dome, there will be an Ocean Film Festival with more fascinating films and there will be ocean activities for the whole family throughout the summer holidays.

From July 10: CALL OF THE DOLPHINS

Dive and dance with wild dolphins! 25 years after the successful big-screen film Dolphins (679,000 visitors), this enchanting and impressive sequel is released, narrated by World Wildlife Fund ambassador Merel Westrik. Call of the Dolphins is a cheerful ode to the special bond between humans and dolphins. Dolphins live in close-knit groups, stay with their families their entire lives, work together and even speak baby talk – just like us. You meet Captain Wayne, who has been snorkeling with spotted dolphins in the Bahamas for 35 years. You follow researchers who do everything they can to understand their behavior, and you see how IFAW rescuers help hundreds of stranded dolphins get back on their way every year. Every scene below the ocean surface shows you something new about their world – and ours.

July 10 to August 31: SOUNDS OF THE OCEAN

The award-winning big-screen film Sounds of the Ocean takes you on a soothing journey to the depths of the ocean. Immerse yourself in the mesmerizing sounds of whales and dolphins, original music and mesmerizing underwater imagery. Created by ocean artist Joshua Sam Miller and expressive artist Elise Lein, this unique family-friendly experience combines art, music and mindfulness to create a meditative ocean odyssey. In a world of stress, this experience offers peace, reflection and connection with nature. You are invited to not only admire the beauty of marine life, but also to protect it. Experience the magic. Take a deep breath. And dive into the ocean. Ten percent of every Sounds of the Ocean ticket sold will be donated to IFAW.

August 2 to 10: OCEAN FILM FESTIVAL

During the Ocean Film Festival, besides Call of the Dolphins and Sounds of the Ocean, more fascinating ocean films will be shown on the Dome’s dome screen. The programme includes Turtle Adventure, Secrets of the Sea and Ocean by David Attenborough .
