Topic: Dying & the Mindful Caregiver
Dates: April 20 & July 8
In this second instalment of our mindful workshop series on death, we continue our exploration of end-of-life preparation and the path of the mindful caregiver.
True mindfulness and self-compassion are the two pillars of a stool that becomes complete only when contemplation meets action. This evening, Amanda will discuss the evolving roles of both the dying person and the family caregiver, exploring how these dynamics shift as illness and death progress. This workshop is equally valuable for professional caregivers or those aspiring to the field, offering a “dance” toward clarity, connection, and completion when everyone involved receives the support they need.
Through poetry, guided meditation, and open discussion, we will empower you to:
- Integrate Mindfulness: Use daily awareness as a foundation for caregiving.
- Practice Self-Compassion: Build resilience within the caregiving environment.
- Navigate Palliative Care: Understand the nuances and benefits as care transitions toward hospice.
- Support the Spirit: Gain insight into the mental and spiritual needs of those at the end of life.
