Ever wondered what it would feel like to travel through the universe with an astronomer as your guide? At the Star Party at Museon-Omniversum, visitors can explore planets, stars and galaxies projected across the enormous dome screen while an astronomer from NOVA, the Netherlands Research School for Astronomy, provides live commentary.
Unlike a regular film screening, the Star Party is interactive. Visitors can ask questions along the way, making each journey through space a little different.
The event is designed to be accessible even if you know very little about astronomy, making it a good introduction for anyone curious about space.
There are two versions of the Star Party during each evening. The 19:00 session is aimed at families with children aged six and above, with plenty of opportunities for young space explorers to ask questions. The 20:45 session is designed for adults and allows more time for discussion and deeper exploration.
Each Star Party lasts around 90 minutes.
Museon-Omniversum also organises some Star Party sessions in English, making the experience accessible to The Hague’s international community. Check the current programme when booking to confirm the language of your chosen session.
