Originated in Richard Saul Wurman’s idea to link Technology, Entertainment, and Design to spread ideas, TED conferences date back all the way to the 1980s. Since its establishment, TED has grown into a global nonprofit universe that is known for hosting conferences with renowned speakers from a variety of fields. Under the premise ‘ideas worth spreading’, TED facilitates the distribution of knowledge in an engaging way.
Luckily, you no longer have to travel far to experience TED’s magic. In recent years, independent TEDx events licensed by TED bring the global stage to local communities. One of these initiatives is TEDxLeidenUniversity here in The Hague. Established in 2018, the non-profit organisation offers a vibrant platform for professionals and students to come together. By allowing the sharing of groundbreaking ideas, TEDxLeidenUniversity sparks meaningful discussions between generations.
