Let the rainbow flag wave and love shine, as Pride The Hague is back! This event is a powerful demonstration of love, acceptance, and diversity. On May 16 and 17, Pride The Hague will draw attention to LGBTIQA+ emancipation and celebrate love, culminating in the Pride Walk and Pride Party on May 17.
About Pride The Hague
Pride The Hague is back and ready to paint The Hague with the colors of the rainbow. Even in a city like The Hague, where diversity should be embraced, it remains a challenge for openly queer individuals to feel safe and accepted. Pride is therefore a crucial moment when the queer community unites, regardless of gender, sexual orientation, or gender identity. It is an opportunity to increase visibility, show solidarity, and take a stand against discrimination and intimidation. Pride The Hague provides a platform for visibility, acceptance, and inclusion of the LGBTIQA+ community through various events during and around this festive weekend.
Events
Opening Night: Sharing Stories The event kicks off on May 16 at Amare in The Hague. The opening night of Pride The Hague is a festive kick-off under the theme ‘Sharing Stories.’ Stories from the queer community take center stage with a panel, a film screening, an interactive quiz, and dazzling performances by queer artists. Additionally, there will be a queer market with various organizations dedicated to supporting queer individuals. The evening begins at 19:00 and ends at 23:00.
Pride Walk
On May 17, the streets of The Hague will be filled with the Pride Walk, a colorful protest full of pride and diversity. Gathering starts at 13:00 at the International Homomonument on Koekamp, and at 14:00, a route through the city will be walked. Together, a new chapter of love and acceptance will be written in the city!
Pride Party
After the Pride Walk, the protest transitions into the Pride Party The Hague, a colorful festival full of music, dance, and solidarity with various queer artists. From 16:00 to 23:00, the area around the International Homomonument on Koekamp will become a bustling party location where everyone is welcome to dance and enjoy the positive energy!
Other Activities
In addition to these main events, there are many other activities during Pride The Hague week, such as lectures, film nights, sports activities, and parties. Various (queer) organizations come together to share the new inclusive story of Pride The Hague.
